Section 06Testing & Reactivating Webhooks
Test sends a small JSON payload to a callback URL to confirm it receives events. Reactivate re-posts a Failed or Deleted subscription to ServiceM8 so it starts receiving events again.
Test POSTs a JSON payload to the callback URL: {"message":"This is a test webhook","timestamp":"YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS"}. Use it to confirm an endpoint is actually receiving events — even when a status check shows ✗.
Reactivate re-posts the same event, callback URL and unique ID to ServiceM8, then confirms the subscription now appears as active. It is the way to bring a Failed or Deleted webhook back to life after you have fixed the endpoint.
In the Failed group, clicking a row opens the modal. The modal's main button is Reactivate, so you can fix the callback URL first and then reactivate without leaving the screen.
- Active webhook — actions are Edit, Test and Delete. Clicking a row opens the same modal as Edit.
- Failed webhook — actions are Reactivate and Test. Clicking a row opens the modal, where the main button is Reactivate.
- Deleted webhook — actions are Reactivate and Test. No modal, and no status check runs.
