Section 05Status & Reachability Checks
The Status column shows whether a callback URL is reachable and how long it took to respond. Checks run automatically on Active and Failed webhooks when the list loads, and again each time you open a webhook in the modal.
A status check sends an OPTIONS request to the callback URL with an 8-second timeout. If the endpoint responds within the timeout, the status shows ✓ and the response time. If it does not respond, or responds with an error, the status shows ✗.
- ✓ — the callback URL is reachable and responded to the OPTIONS request within 8 seconds, with the response time shown.
- ✗ — the callback URL did not respond, timed out, or returned an error within the 8-second timeout.
- Checks run on Active and Failed webhooks when the list loads.
- Opening a webhook in the modal re-checks that webhook.
ServiceM8 rules: callback URLs must return a 2xx response within 10 seconds, and repeated failures make ServiceM8 deactivate the subscription automatically. That is why webhooks end up in Failed — the endpoint failed or timed out repeatedly, so ServiceM8 stopped sending events to it.
