Webhook Manager Section 04

Creating & Editing Webhooks

The Create/Edit modal is where you register a webhook. You pick an event, enter the callback URL that should receive it, and set a unique ID. Validation runs as you type.

Select Create webhook from the toolbar to open the modal. In the modal you choose an event from the event picker, type or paste the callback URL, and enter a unique ID. A random 6-character hex ID is pre-filled and can be edited.

  • Event picker — choose which ServiceM8 event the webhook fires on (create only; the event cannot be changed when editing).
  • Callback URL — the http or https URL that ServiceM8 should POST event payloads to.
  • Unique ID — a required identifier (a random 6-character hex ID is pre-filled and can be edited).
  • Reachability — the modal shows whether the callback URL is reachable, plus the last failure message and raw text if there was one.
  • Subscription UUID — the ServiceM8 subscription UUID is shown for reference.

Validation runs as you type: the callback URL must be http or https, and the same event plus callback URL cannot be registered twice. The same callback URL with a different event is allowed.
